A 2003 Nissan SUV pulling a single-axle utility trailer was traveling north on I-5 when it made an unsafe right turn and left the roadway

Patterson, CA. – One person was killed in a car collision near Patterson on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened on Interstate 5, north of Sperry Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. August 5.
According to the CHP, a 2003 Nissan SUV pulling a single-axle utility trailer was traveling north on I-5 when it made an unsafe right turn and left the roadway.
The vehicle went down a steep embankment, then crashed through a barbed wire and ended up in the California Aqueduct.
When authorities retrieved the vehicle from the aqueduct, they located the deceased driver inside.
The driver was only identified as a man.
The California Highway Patrol is working to determine the cause of the accident.
