Sacramento, CA. – 30-year-old Volodymyr Molchanovych was killed in a suspected DUI collision on Sunday night in North Highlands.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at North Haven Drive and Watt Avenue at around 10 p.m.

28-year-old Yurii Shylovets was driving a BMW southbound on Watt Avenue when he T-boned a Nissan Altima that was turning left from a business driveway.

The BMW continued onto the median before hitting two large trees.

Molchanovych was a passenger in the BMW and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

Shylovets was unconscious and was taken to the hospital. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the hospital and arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The driver of the Altima, Alvaro Arrendondo Navarro, was also arrested on suspicion of DUI.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
