1 Person Killed, Another Critically Hurt in Crash Involving Off-Road Vehicles in Perris

One Person Killed and Another Severely Injured in Collision at Walnut and El Nido Avenues

Perris, CA. – One person died, and another was critically injured in a traffic collision involving two off-road vehicles that happened Saturday evening near an intersection in Perris.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the accident took place around 7:15 p.m. near Walnut Avenue and El Nido Avenues.

The collision involved a Dodge Charger and two Yamaha Raptors.

Sheriff deputies, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after the crash.

One of the Raptor drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other Raptor driver was hospitalized with severe injuries and listed in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the accident occurred when the driver of the Dodge was traveling westbound on Walnut and allegedly attempted to use the eastbound lane to pass a group of off-road vehicles heading westbound in front of them.

Drugs and alcohol were not expected to be contributing factors.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
