Los Angeles, CA. – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the wrong-way driver who died in a crash Sunday morning in downtown Los Angeles as 28-year-old Andrew Fierro.
Three other people suffered serious injuries in the crash that happened around 5:25 a.m. on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway east of San Pedro Street.
Authorities said Fierro was driving a Honda Civic eastbound in the westbound lanes when he collided head-on with a Toyota Sienna heading westbound.
Fierro, the solo occupant in the Civic, died in the crash. His city of residence was not mentioned.
The three people inside the Sienna were hospitalized with serious injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
