San Luis Obispo, CA. – A motorcyclist died after colliding with a pickup truck on Tuesday evening near Avila Beach in San Luis Obispo.
The fatal motorcycle accident happened around 6 p.m. on Avila Beach Drive at First Street, according to the California High Patrol.
A 58-year-old Arroyo Grande man was driving a 1992 Harley Davidson eastbound on Avila Beach Drive when he collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado that was turning left onto Avila Beach Drive from First Street.
The rider was ejected from the bike and was transported to Adventist Health Sierra Vista Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
The 29-year-old Santa Maria resident driving the Chevrolet suffered minor injuries in the accident.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
