According to a preliminary investigation, a southbound Dodge Dakota, operated by Thoren Poole, 33, of Seaside, entered the northbound lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a Ford F450, operated by Jeremy Townsend, 50, of Warrenton.

Clatsop County, OR. Thoren Poole was killed, and Jeremy Townsend was hospitalized after a head-on crash on Highway 101 in Clatsop County Tuesday evening.

The Oregon State Police responded to the wreck at about 5:20 p.m. on July 23 on State Route 101 near milepost 15.

According to a preliminary investigation, a southbound Dodge Dakota, operated by Thoren Poole, 33, of Seaside, entered the northbound lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a Ford F450, operated by Jeremy Townsend, 50, of Warrenton.

Poole was declared deceased at the crash site, while Townsend was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
