Oregon City, Oregon (February 27, 2023) – Two people were killed in a collision involving a snowplow in Clackamas County on Saturday afternoon.

The fatal collision happened at around 3:40 p.m. on February 25, on Highway 26 near Milepost 59, according to Oregon State Police.

A 26-year-old Beaverton woman was driving a Subaru Outback on the roadway when she drifted into the opposite lanes for unknown reasons and collided head-on with an ODOT snowplow driven by a 29-year-old Troutdale resident.

Two passengers in the Subaru were killed in the accident. The two were identified as 24-year-old Lillian Spahn and 28-year-old Micah Strauss, of Portland.

The snowplow operator and the other three occupants of the Subaru were taken to area hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
