San Bernardino, California (February 6, 2022) – One of the two people who died Saturday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Colton has been identified as Jose Carranza, 54, of Pacoima.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened on the westbound side of the 10 Freeway at Pepper Avenue at about 2 a.m. on February 5.

Two vehicles are reported to have collided on the freeway in unclear circumstances. The impact of the crash sent the vehicles down a ditch.

The police said Carranza and his passenger were killed in the accident.

More information about the accident was not provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
