The incident occurred around 5:39 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-880 just south of the Stevens Creek Boulevard on-ramp.

San Jose, CA – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident that happened Sunday afternoon on Interstate 880 in San Jose, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident occurred around 5:39 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-880 just south of the Stevens Creek Boulevard on-ramp.

According to CHP, a white 4-door Toyota Prius, a white Subaru Outback, and a third car were involved in the collision.

One person sustained minor injuries in the accident. The patient was transported to the hospital for treatment.

A pitbull in the patient’s vehicle was taken by the Animal Control Unit.

All the vehicles were towed away with crash damage.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
