The woman was crossing the roadway when she was struck by a passing small pickup truck.
The St. Helena Police Department and other emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after the crash.
The woman was taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
The pickup truck was towed away with moderate front-end damage.
