Police reported that a 38-year-old man was riding an electric scooter in the area near Watsonville Fire Station No. 1 when he got involved in a collision with a pickup truck

Watsonville, CA – A man riding a scooter was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Watsonville on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Watsonville Police Department.
At about 1:52 p.m. May 6, authorities received reports of a crash on 2nd Street west of Rodriguez Street.
Police reported that a 38-year-old man was riding an electric scooter in the area near Watsonville Fire Station No. 1 when he got involved in a collision with a pickup truck. Details on what led up to the accident were unavailable.
Watsonville fire crews immediately responded to the scene and rendered aid to the scooter rider, who was badly injured in the accident.
The rider was then transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he was declared deceased. His name was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The driver of the pickup truck was at the scene when authorities arrived and was cooperative with the investigators. There were no reports of any arrests in connection with the crash.
