The collision occurred around 12:45 a.m. near East Leland Road and Gladstone Drive.

Pittsburg, CA. – 22-year-old Vilamalia Polina Tuipulotu died, and 23-year-old Beaux Tagaloa was critically hurt when their vehicle collided with a driver fleeing police early Sunday morning in Pittsburg.
The collision occurred around 12:45 a.m. near East Leland Road and Gladstone Drive.
Reportedly, Tuipulotu and Tagaloa were on their way from a family gathering when their SUV was hit by the driver of an Infiniti being chased by California Highway Patrol officers.
Tuipulotu died of injuries she sustained in the crash.
Tagaloa was hospitalized in critical condition.
The victims were an engaged couple, according to their family.
Authorities said prior to the collision, CHP officers spotted the suspect's car driving more than 100 mph on Highway 4.
The officers started pursuing the vehicle as it exited the highway onto Railroad Avenue in Pittsburg and ran a red light.
The chase ended in the crash about a minute after it was started.
Police said the Infiniti was a stolen car.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
