Victims Hospitalized after Diamond Bar Accident on 60 Freeway ID’d as Juan Cortez and Anthony Rodriguez

Lincoln, California (August 1, 2021) – Two of the three victims hurt in a fatal accident early Saturday morning have been identified as 20-year-old Juan Cortez and 21-year-old Anthony Rodriguez.

The deadly crash happened on the eastbound 60 freeway about 3:00 a.m.

As per the California Highway Patrol report, a Honda Accord with three male occupants rolled over on the interstate for reasons still under investigation.

A Nissan Armada driven by 44-year-old Christian Lucero at high speed then slammed into the Honda that was disabled in the HOV lane.

Sadly, a 20-year-old Compton man riding in the Honda was pinned inside the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Honda operator, Anthony Rodriguez, and the second passenger, Cortez, sustained moderate to serious injuries and were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Christian Lucero survived with moderate injuries and was also hospitalized after the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
