Fresno, CA. – 30-year-old Stevie Esqueda was the man who was fatally struck by an SUV Thursday evening near an intersection in Fresno, the Fresno County Coroner's Office reported.

First responders found the pedestrian in the roadway. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Fresno, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Fresno on Thursday night, according to the Fresno Police Department.
The incident took place on Hughes and Michigan avenues at about 7:32 p.m. February 27.
A vehicle was traveling southbound in the area when it collided with a pedestrian in the roadway.
The victim was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
According to police, alcohol and drugs were not suspected of having played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
