Sung Kang ID'd as Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Collision on Highway 150 (Casitas Pass Road) near Rameli Ranch Road in Ventura County
Ventura County, California (September 2, 2021) – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died Wednesday afternoon following a traffic collision west of Lake Casitas in Ventura County as Sung Dae Kang, 35, of Oxnard.
The deadly crash occurred shortly before 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, in the 5500 block of Highway 150, also known as Casitas Pass Road, just west of Rameli Ranch Road, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, Kang was riding a 2018 Aprilia Tuono V4 eastbound on Highway 150 when he lost control and drifted across the solid double-yellow lines.
The motorcycle then crashed into the side of a dump truck.

Kang was thrown off the bike upon the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving measures performed by the medical personnel.
The crash caused a closure of the highway as authorities investigated the incident.
