Stockton, California (December 17, 2021) – An off-duty Stockton Police officer was hit and injured by a vehicle on Friday evening in Stockton, authorities said.

The pedestrian accident happened at about 4:30 p.m. on El Dorado and Washington Streets.

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the police officer was struck by a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office vehicle. 

The police officer was reportedly walking inside a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The officer was injured in the accident and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
