Authorities said the deputy was responding to a call for service when the patrol vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle.

Carson, CA. – A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy was hospitalized after being involved in a collision Sunday night at an intersection in Carson.
The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. at Central Avenue and Dimondale Drive.
Authorities said the deputy was responding to a call for service when the patrol vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle.
The civilian car struck the deputy's SUV on the driver's side.
The male deputy was taken to a hospital by fellow deputies with non-life-threatening injuries.
The other driver was not hurt.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
