Fresno, CA.- The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fresno on Sunday afternoon has been identified as Shante Vaszquez, 30, of Fresno, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

The incident took place on Olive Avenue and 1st Street at about 3 p.m. August 17.

According to the Fresno Police Department, Vaszquez was walking near the intersection when a gray Honda drifted into the sidewalk, struck her, and dragged her nearly 70 yards.

Vaszquez was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, a 47-year-old man, was booked on DUI charges.

The Fresno Police Department is conducting an investigation into the collision.
