3 Seriously Injured in Santa Rosa Crash at Sebastopol Road and Burbank Avenue

, California (September 3, 2021) – Five people were injured, three of them seriously, in a traffic crash that occurred on Thursday night in Santa Rosa, according to Santa Rosa police.

The accident happened at Sebastopol Road and Avenue shortly before 8:20 p.m. September 2.

Police said a 16-year-old boy was driving a silver BMW sedan east on Sebastopol Road when he was involved in a minor crash with another car just east of Stony Point Road. 

The teen fled from the scene of the collision, which did not result in any injuries.

Shortly after, the teen crashed into a westbound black GMC pickup truck that was making a turn southbound onto Burbank Avenue. The impact caused the pickup to roll over.

3 Seriously Injured in Santa Rosa Crash 

The driver of the BMW and his passengers, a 21-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl, all Santa Rosa residents, sustained major injuries. The driver and the teenage passenger were hospitalized in serious condition while the other passenger had critical injuries.

A male occupant of the pickup was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Impairment is suspected to be a factor in the collision.

The Santa Rosa Police Department is investigating the accident.
