Los Angeles, CA. – A Santa Monica motorcycle officer was injured Thursday night in a multi-vehicle crash that happened on the northbound 405 Freeway near LA’s North Hills area.

The crash was reported shortly after 8 p.m. near Roscoe Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the officer was on his department motorcycle when he was involved in a multi-vehicle collision.

First responders found the motorcycle officer down in the carpool lane, alert and conscious.

Paramedics took the officer by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

No other motorists were reported injured.

The northbound lanes were closed for the investigation. Traffic quickly backed up for miles in both directions.
