Santa Barbara County, CA – Two people were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision that happened Saturday morning at an intersection in Vandenberg Village, authorities reported.

The Lompoc Fire Department and the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the scene.
One person was critically injured in the crash, and another victim suffered minor injuries. The firefighters transported one of the patients to Marian Regional Medical Center and the other to Lompoc Hospital, both via ground ambulance.
One of the patients had to be extricated from their vehicle, the firefighters said.
Police officers responded to the scene and closed Burton Mesa Boulevard for about an hour during the rescue operation and investigation.
