Officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of the crash and found an unconscious man in the roadway.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment. The condition of the patient remained unknown.
Investigators established that the pedestrian was crossing the street when he was hit by a car traveling southbound on Coast Village Road.
The street was closed for several hours during the investigation. Impairment did not appear to be a contributing factor.
