Preliminary reports indicate that a pedestrian was struck by a Caltrain on the tracks. It was unclear how the pedestrian ended up on the tracks on how the collision transpired.
Authorities reported that the victim died following the accident. The victim has not been identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office pending notification of the next-of-kin.
The train stopped near the scene after the accident and no other injuries were reported. The train conductor was cooperative with the investigators.
