San Jose, CA – A female bicyclist was hit and killed by a pickup truck around 6:15 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at Capitol Expressway and Ocala Avenue, the San Jose Police Department reported.
Police officers and paramedics responded to the area after being notified about a collision involving a pickup truck and a bicycle. The responders located a 2017 white Ford F-350 pickup truck and a bicycle.
The woman who was riding the bicycle was suffering from grave injuries. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
The man driving the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was driving the vehicle northbound on Capitol Expressway when he entered the intersection with Ocala Avenue on a green light and hit the woman as she was riding her bicycle eastbound on Ocala Avenue.
SJPD is investigating the accident, but does not believe
intoxication was a contributing factor.
