According to the San Jose Police Department, a 2003 Nissan Frontier was traveling northbound on SR 87 when it crashed into the rear of a 2021 Toyota Sienna

San Jose, CA – Authorities have released the identity of a man who was killed in a car accident earlier this month in San Jose.
Paul Adame, 63, of San Jose, died following the multi-vehicle accident that took place on Interstate 87 near the Interstate 280 connector at around 2:51 p.m. April 19.
According to the San Jose Police Department, a 2003 Nissan Frontier was traveling northbound on SR 87 when it crashed into the rear of a 2021 Toyota Sienna. The impact of the crash pushed the Toyota into two other vehicles.
The San Jose Fire Department responded to the site of the collision and attended to the individuals involved in the accident.
Adame, who was driving the Toyota, was taken to a hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver of the Nissan, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police reported that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a role in the accident. No arrests were announced in connection with the crash.
At least two northbound lanes of SR 87 were shut down for almost two hours while authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
