San Jose, CA – A deadly accident involving a motorcycle rider left one person dead on Tuesday afternoon in San Jose, according to the San Jose Police Department.

According to preliminary reports, a vehicle and a motorcycle rider collided near the intersection. The events leading up to the accident were not immediately available.
The SJPD officers and emergency crews were dispatched to the site of the accident shortly after.
The motorcycle rider was transported by medics to a hospital. The unidentified rider, however, succumbed to their injuries and was confirmed deceased at the hospital.
The other driver stayed at the scene after the collision and cooperated with the investigators.
Police announced that both directions of Meridian Avenue between Hamilton and Minnesota avenues would be shut down for an unspecified duration following the incident.
