San Francisco, CA – A deadly collision involving a San Francisco Muni bus killed a pedestrian in the city on Tuesday morning, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
At around 6:50 a.m. March 24, authorities responded to reports of a collision on Geary Boulevard near Kearny Street.
According to the SFMTA, a pedestrian who was on the sidewalk fell onto the bus’ path, for unknown reasons, and was struck by the 38 Geary bus that was traveling westbound on Geary Boulevard.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and they transported the pedestrian to a hospital, where he was declared deceased. The victim’s name was not immediately released but authorities reported that he was a male.
No additional information on the incident was immediately available. The SFMTA officials and the San Francisco Police Department are conducting investigations into the deadly collision.
