Lake County, OR – The Oregon State Police have identified a bicyclist killed in a Friday afternoon crash on in Lake County as Robert Patrick McGee, 69, of New Pine Creek.

The incident occurred on State Route 395 near milepost 157 at around 12:31 p.m. on August 1, according to a police report.

Reports revealed that McGee was traveling southbound on the highway when a white GMC 3500 HD pickup driven by 64-year-old Greg Alan Stiles of Guernville (CA), attempted to pass and hit McGee.

McGee was declared dead at the crash site.

Stiles, who was impaired at the time of the wreck, was arrested for DUII and lodged at the Lake County Jail.  His passenger, Diego Rosas Ojeda, 48, of (CA), was not injured.

Lake County, OR – A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a car on Highway 395 in Lake County Friday afternoon.

The deadly crash happened at about 12:31 p.m. on August 1 on Highway 395 near milepost 157.

Investigators said the bicyclist was traveling southbound on Highway 395 near milepost 157 when a white GMC 3500 HD pickup truck attempted to pass and struck the cyclist.

The bicyclist suffered injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the GMC driver was impaired at the time of the crash and was arrested for DUII and booked at the Lake County Jail.

The highway was closed for about 6 hours as officers investigated the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
