Rancho Cordova, CA – A man was hospitalized in critical condition after a traffic collision involving a truck and a light rail train that happened Friday afternoon in Rancho Cordova.
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department, the incident occurred around 1:02 on July 3, 2026, p.m. at Folsom Boulevard and Kilgore Road.
Authorities said that, for reasons still under investigation, a Sacramento Regional Transit train pinned a truck against a light rail electrical pole, leaving a man trapped inside the truck.
Responding firefighters had to stabilize the truck first before freeing the victim.
The man was taken to a local trauma center in critical condition.
No other details were given, but an investigation is ongoing.
