Surprise, AZ.- A pedestrian was hit and injured by a vehicle in Surprise on Wednesday evening, according to the Surprise Police Department.
The collision took place on Grand Avenue and Greenway Road at about 6 p.m.
The police reported that a vehicle hit a pedestrian on Grand Avenue.
The pedestrian is believed to have been struck while walking outside of the crosswalk.
The victim was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.
The southeastbound lanes of Grand Avenue were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
