The incident took place on Howard and 7th streets at about 2 p.m. May 1.

Police reported that a vehicle struck an adult walking a dog in the area.

The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.

The dog died at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was not suspected of DUI.
