According to police, a blue 2020 Peterbilt garbage truck was traveling westbound on Shamrock Drive when it entered the driveway of a strip mall

San Jose, CA.- A pedestrian was run over by a garbage truck in San Jose on Thursday morning, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The incident occurred in the 2800 block of Bascom Avenue at about 4:05 a.m.
According to police, a blue 2020 Peterbilt garbage truck was traveling westbound on Shamrock Drive when it entered the driveway of a strip mall.
The truck struck a man lying in the driveway.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The accident remains under investigation.
