California Highway Patrol officers and other emergency personnel responded to the eastbound 210 Freeway near Altadena Drive after they received reports of a crash around 1:31 p.m. on February 13.

Pasadena, CA – One person was sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision that happened Friday afternoon in Pasadena.
California Highway Patrol officers and other emergency personnel responded to the eastbound 210 Freeway near Altadena Drive after they received reports of a crash around 1:31 p.m. on February 13.
A white Toyota Camry and a white truck were involved in the accident, blocking the HOV lane. The Camry had an elderly occupant.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and transported one person to Huntington Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
The Camry was towed away with moderate front- and rear-end damage.
CHP is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
Pasadena’s serious car collision counts have generally risen over the past several years. In 2021, the city reported 771 victims killed or injured in fatal and injury collisions per California Office of Traffic Safety rankings. In 2022, that count increased to 853 victims, and in 2023 it further rose to 978 victims, placing Pasadena 7th among similar-sized California cities for serious crashes in 2023. Across these years, subcategories also shifted. Pedestrian victims climbed from 60 in 2021 to 75 in 2023, and older adults (65+) among pedestrians were 19 in 2023, ranking highest statewide in that group. Speed-related collision victims rose, and hit-and-run serious crashes remained notable. Alcohol-involved collision counts were fairly stable.
