Paramount, CA – Authorities are investigating a fatal collision that claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman on the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Paramount early Saturday morning.
According to a California Highway Patrol log, the incident happened at the Rosecrans Avenue off-ramp just before 2:55 a.m. on January 31.
Initial reports indicate that a white sedan, a white Ford Explorer, and a third vehicle were involved in the wreck. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicles crashed in the northbound lanes of the freeway.
The crash resulted in closures of at least two lanes as firefighters and paramedics attended to the involved parties and the CHP conducted on-scene investigations.
Medics pronounced one victim deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Miiyada Taylor, 25. Her city of residence was not confirmed.
There were no immediate details on the conditions of other involved parties and whether anyone needed to be transported to a hospital.
Debris from the collision was scattered across the freeway. CHP issued a Sigalert at at 4:11 a.m. leading to the closure of two lanes of the freeway at the off-ramp upto around 5:41 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol is still working to find out what caused the accident.
