According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident was reported around 9:01 a.m. on July 24, 2026, in the 100 block of West Channel Islands Boulevard at the Center Point Mall.
Oxnard, CA – A 59-year-old Oxnard man died after he was struck by a vehicle exiting a driveway Friday morning in Oxnard.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident was reported around 9:01 a.m. on July 24, 2026, in the 100 block of West Channel Islands Boulevard at the Center Point Mall.
Oxnard police officers and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene after receiving reports of a serious-injury pedestrian crash.
The responders found a man lying down in a driveway with serious injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition. The man later died that day at 5:36 p.m. while receiving treatment at the hospital.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 53-year-old Oxnard woman was driving a Toyota Tacoma southbound through the driveway of Center Point Mall, approaching Channel Islands Boulevard. The driver stopped at the exit for traffic.
At the same time, a 59-year-old man was walking eastbound on the sidewalk on Channel Islands Boulevard.
Authorities said the pedestrian stepped into the driveway entrance and continued walking eastbound.
At that time, the driver of the Toyota proceeded forward to make a right turn onto Channel Islands Boulevard.
The vehicle struck the man, throwing him to the ground. The driver did not notice the crash and continued with her turn. She then ran over the pedestrian.
Investigators do not believe impairment or speed contributed to the accident.
Oxnard PD is investigating the accident.
