Oxnard, CA – Two people were killed and several others injured in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred on Friday afternoon in Oxnard.
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the incident took place in the area of Victoria and Doris avenues shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, September 25.
According to the investigators, nearly six to seven vehicles were involved in the accident and a pickup truck overturned as a result of the collision.
Two of the involved motorists reportedly died at the scene as a result of the accident.
Four other parties were taken to a hospital. One of the patients had serious injuries, one had moderate injuries, and the other two were treated for minor injuries.
Authorities reported that speed and impairment were suspected to have played a role in the incident.
Victoria Avenue was expected to be shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
The cause of the collision remained under investigation.
