Woman Injured in Oroville Accident with Work Truck on State Route 70 and State Route 149

Oroville, CA – The California Highway Patrol responded to a collision involving a work truck in a construction zone on State Route 70 in Oroville on Monday afternoon.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 12:30 p.m. February 9, on northbound State Route 70 and the northbound State Route 149 split.

Initial reports indicate that a woman driving a gold SUV northbound on the highway slammed into the back of a Caltrans work truck. The Caltrans crew, who was performing roadway maintenance, had closures in the area and traffic was either stopped or moving slowly.

The Caltrans truck was briefly stopped when it was struck from the back by the SUV.

In addition to CHP officers, the Butte County Cal Fire and Butte County Emergency Medical Services helped at the scene.

The woman driving the SUV was trapped in her car and had to be extricated by the firefighters. Medics then rushed her to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The driver of the work truck complained of neck pain and was attended to by the medics at the scene.

Additional details on the incident were not immediately available and the California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the accident.
