Oregon City, OR – The authorities are working to find out what led up to an accident that claimed the lives of two people near Oregon City on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, the accident was reported at around 4:20 p.m. December 23, on South Redland Road near the Meadow View Drive.

Through a preliminary investigation, authorities determined that a Jeep Cherokee went into the opposite lane on a curve and collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck. A Kia Forte was also believed to have been involved in the collision.

The driver of the Jeep, an 85-year-old man, and his passenger, an 82-year-old woman, were both killed in the accident. Their names were not immediately released.

There were no other serious injuries reported in the incident.

Authorities do not believe impairment was factor in the accident. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.
