According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:49 a.m. on the southbound San Diego (5) Freeway just south of Junipero Serra Road.
San Juan Capistrano, CA. – One person died in a car collision that occurred Saturday morning on a freeway in San Juan Capistrano.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:49 a.m. on the southbound San Diego (5) Freeway just south of Junipero Serra Road.
Authorities said a white sedan and a silver sedan were involved in the accident. The crash left both car's airbags deployed.
One of the drivers was taken to Mission Regional Hospital for treatment, where they later died.
The driver of the white car appeared impaired and a witness said they were driving recklessly before the collision.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the collision.
