Temecula, CA. – Nancy Arzate, 33, has been identified as the woman who died after being struck by a car in Temecula on Saturday night.
The accident happened on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway near Santiago Road at around 9:50 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Arzate was standing outside her 2011 Toyota Camry after being involved in a solo-vehicle crash when she was struck by a 2003 Ford Edge driven by 26-year-old Mason Michael Joachim of Carlsbad.
The Perris woman was killed in the accident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
Joachim allegedly fled on foot but was later located and taken into custody by the CHP.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
