The CHP reported that a 2026 Rivian SUV was heading west on Paradise Road when it tried to turn left onto Shiloh Road and was hit by a white 2004 Toyota pickup heading west on Paradise Road.

Modesto, CA – Nohe Salazarmartinez, 32, of Patterson, was severely injured in a deadly collision that took place in Stanislaus County on Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported shortly before 7 p.m. July 16, near Paradise and Shiloh roads, west of Modesto.
The CHP reported that a 2026 Rivian SUV was heading west on Paradise Road when it tried to turn left onto Shiloh Road and was hit by a white 2004 Toyota pickup heading west on Paradise Road.
The driver of the Toyota, a 29-year-old man from Patterson, was killed in the incident. His name was not released pending notification of the next-of-kin.
Salazarmartinez was a passenger in the Toyota and was rushed to a local hospital with major injuries.
The 16-year-old Patterson boy driving the Rivian and his passenger, identified as Carmen Borquezdefelix, 38, also Patterson, were both transported with minor injuries.
According to the CHP, alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
The intersection remained shut for nearly three hours as authorities examined and cleared the scene.
