Mireya Reyes Among 3 People Injured in Fatal Modesto Crash on Highway 132
Modesto, California (September 4, 2021) – Mireya Reyes, 51, has been identified as one of the three parties who were injured in a Saturday night traffic accident that killed three people in Modesto, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 9:10 p.m., on August 28, on Highway 132.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Aurelia Amezcua, 49, of San Jose, was headed westbound on Highway 132, approaching the San Joaquin River bridge attempting to pass a big rig.
Amezcua accelerated and crossed the center lines into the eastbound lane, directly into the path of a 2011 Nissan Versa being driven by Lisa Trevino, 40, of Ceres. Unfortunately, the two vehicles collided head-on.
Following the collision, the two vehicles came to rest on their wheels within the eastbound lane and the shoulder south of the roadway.

Sadly, Trevino, Michael Maul, 43, of Salida, the front seat passenger in the Nissan, and a backseat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
Amezcua suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Doctors Medical Center. Her passengers, Maria Magana, 53, of Hayward, and Reyes, suffered major injuries and were taken to Memorial Medical Center.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped for about three hours due to the accident.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the collision.
