Millbrae, CA – An elderly pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Monday afternoon in the Millbrae area, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

A 911 call was made to the department just before 3 p.m. February 2, about a collision with a pedestrian on Richmond Drive near Central Park.

At the scene, authorities located a 90-year-old woman suffering from major injuries. Investigators determined that the woman had been hit by a vehicle and the driver pulled over at the scene and waited for authorities to arrive.

Medics who also responded to the incident transported the injured pedestrian to a hospital. Later in the evening, the Sheriff’s Office received reports that the pedestrian had succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The driver cooperated with the investigators, who determined that impairment was unlikely a factor in the incident. Both the driver and the pedestrian have yet to be identified.

At this time, investigations are ongoing to find out what caused the deadly pedestrian collision and no additional details have been made available.
