According to the report, Maryah Genevieve-Estella, 29, of Sonora, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle westbound on Highway 108 when she drifted across the eastbound lane and off the south side of the highway
Sonora, CA.– A woman was killed in a solo crash in Sonora on Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on Highway 108 west of Peaceful Oak Road at around 6:30 p.m. September 30.
According to the report, Maryah Genevieve-Estella, 29, of Sonora, was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle westbound on Highway 108 when she drifted across the eastbound lane and off the south side of the highway.
The car overturned on the side of the highway and Genevieve-Estella, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
Witnesses attempted to perform life-saving measures on Genevieve-Estella but she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
According to the CHP, impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
