Man Killed in Oakland Car Crash on Interstate 80 near Bay Bridge

Oakland, California (September 6, 2021) – A man was killed after an alleged drunken driver drove the wrong way in the MacArthur Maze in Oakland early Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly crash was reported at around 1:12 a.m. on Interstate 80, just east of Bay Bridge.
According to the CHP, the suspect was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 80 when their car collided with another car.

The suspect fled the scene on foot but was later located in nearby bush. Authorities believed the suspect may have been driving under the influence.
