A 1998 Jeep Cherokee SUV struck a cement wall on the north side of Madrone Avenue at a creek crossing.
An adult male passenger in the car died at the scene.
The woman driving the vehicle was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Doctors stabilized her and later downgraded the injuries to non-life-threatening.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident.
