Lumpkin County, GA – Several students were injured in a crash involving a Forsyth County school bus in Lumpkin County on Monday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The accident took place on GA-400 and Lumpkin County Parkway/Burnt Sand Road on Monday, March 9.
According to investigators, the school bus was carrying students to a field trip in Lumpkin County when the bus rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection. The manner in which the accident occurred was still being investigated by the GSP.
Nine students on board the bus were injured in the accident. The school bus driver, an adult passenger on the bus, and the driver of the second vehicle, were also hurt in the crash.
Authorities said all injuries sustained in the incident were not life-threatening and all parties were attended to by emergency crews at the scene.
The Georgia State Patrol and crews from the Lumpkin County Emergency Services responded to the site of the accident and assisted the involved parties.
No further information on the crash was immediately released and the GSP is still conducting an investigation to establish its cause.
