Los Angeles, CA – A pedestrian was struck and severely injured by a train in the Historic South-Central neighborhood of Los Angeles on Saturday evening.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 60-year-old man was hit by Metro A-Line train on the tracks. Authorities were still working to find out why the pedestrian was on the tracks or what led up to the accident.
Police and the LAFD personnel responded to the incident and located the injured pedestrian.
The man was transported to a hospital and was listed in critical condition. The victim was only identified as a 60-year-old man and his name was not released.
The people aboard the train at the time were not injured in the accident.
