Long Beach, CA – Two people were injured Monday night after a Long Beach car accident sent a Tesla crashing through the front of a pharmacy and into a neighboring coffee shop, authorities said.
The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Atlantic Avenue, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
Officials said the collision involved a Tesla and a Honda Accord. The impact caused the Tesla to leave the roadway and crash through the front of a pharmacy before coming to rest inside an adjacent coffee shop.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Their conditions were not immediately available.
Fire officials confirmed that no pedestrians or customers inside the businesses were injured. City inspectors later determined that the building did not suffer structural damage and was safe following the crash.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
