
Lakewood, WA.- One person was injured in a collision with a big rig near the Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Lakewood on Wednesday morning.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, the crash happened at around 10:33 a.m. on Interstate 5.
A vehicle collided with a semi-truck on the southbound side of the interstate near the JBLM Main Gate. It's unclear what led up to the collision.
The sedan came to a rest partially on top of the barrier on the right shoulder of the interstate.
The Washington State Patrol responded to the incident and reported that the sedan driver was injured. The driver was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
The crash caused the closure of the two right lanes of southbound I-5 as authorities worked to clear the scene. The WSP is conducting an investigation into the collision.
